Clapham Batchelor’s Pad

Faced with planning constraints that prevented any external extension, our client challenged us to maximise the internal footprint of this top-floor duplex apartment. Our solution introduced a sculptural stairwell inserted directly beneath the roofline – a non-standard intervention that utilised previously redundant loft space. Positioned at the heart of the plan, the stairwell became both a striking architectural feature and a vital source of natural light, allowing daylight to filter deep into the core living areas. The result is a carefully orchestrated penthouse that feels expansive, bright, and intelligently reimagined from within.
