The Rockhampton Aquatic Centre is part of a significant regeneration of the city’s Southside Memorial Pool complex, creating a vibrant new community destination through a comprehensive master plan and a series of new and refurbished structures. Designed in collaboration with Brisbane-based practice Liquid Blu, our role encompassed concept development, lead consultancy, and detailed design across the site. The scheme includes a FINA-approved 50m Olympic pool, refurbished 25m and diving pools, an indoor learn-to-swim facility, children’s leisure pool, cafe, retail and lounge areas, and extensive landscaped zones for BBQs and recreation. The result is a civic asset that blends functionality, accessibility, and amenity with considered architectural clarity.
